As the name implies, trucks move hook lift bins by placing a hook through the docking point at the back of the bin. The docking point consists of the exterior bin side and strong, curved metal bar. The truck lifts the bin and sets it in place using this point of contact. Because trucks load these bins on a ramp, hook lift bins can accommodate heavy loads that full-lifting bins cannot hold.
